- Dominican University of California junior guard/forward Adam Chavis has been named the California
Pacific Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of November 3, 2008.
Chavis, a Hayward High School alum, averaged 22.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2 assists per game for
the No. 21 Penguins in a 68-66 win over Southern Oregon University and an 82-74 loss to defending National Champions No. 1
Oregon Tech.

- Oakland Raiders rookie DB Tyvon Branch (UCONN '08) generously
contributed to Tennyson High School's Annual Football Hero's Dinner.

- 2nd Annual FAM1LY F1RST Football Camp: Marshawn
Lynch (Buffalo Bills) along with Robert Jordan (San Francisco 49ers) and Josh Johnson
(Tampa Bay Bucs) are running this FREE football camp on July 12 at Lynch's former high school (Oakland Technical High) for
kids ages 8-18. Space is limited to the first 250 8-12 year olds and the first 250 13-18 year olds.
Refreshments will be served and each participant will receive a FREE t-shirt.
